November 11, 1997 - First Encounter

I saw my first UFO this morning walking home from the shops at 10:45 (GMT) in the Chantry estate, Ipswich, UK. I looked up and watched a jet create a trail across the sky. Then I had a strange feeling that I wanted to see a UFO, so I scanned the sky and noticed a distant shiny metallic object drifting across the sky. It seemed cylindrical in shape at first and oriented horizontally. As it drifted past about 200 feet in the air, I realised it was too small to be an airship, too metallic and shiny to be a balloon, too silent to be a small plane and the wrong shape to fit anything else that would make a sceptic comfortable. After watching it pass it seemed to resemble the classic sourcer shape. It also didn't create any exhaust trail.

I ran home as fast as I could with my eyes fixed on the object. By the time I was back outside with a camera to take the photo it was too far away, so unfortunately it looks no more than a bright blob in the distance.

The image on the left has been digitally enchanced in an attempt to highlight the shape of the craft.

It was too far away and didn't behave in a way to substantiate this to be advanced technology, or of alien origin. But I can say that there is no currently known craft that looks like this. Hence, it must have been a UFO.

I might also add that this was minutes before the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, which is when we hold a minutes silence for Remembrance Day.

August 28, 1997 - Lightning Strike (Divine Intervention?)

A lightning bolt struck just outside my bedroom window on the morning of this day and killed my modem! I'm now having to use an old 2400bps modem I built when I used to work at Miracom Technology. So, no large file attachments please, they'll not get through.

July 2, 1997 - Visited Hitcham Crop Circle

After a small news report in a local paper my friend Matt and I drove out to look for this crop circle which appeared near Stowmarket, UK. It was actually three circles linked together; one large one with two smaller circles connected.

All the evidence at the site strongly suggests that this was a man made hoax.
