November 27, 1999 - My First Piercing
September 5, 1999 - ECTS '99 Olympia Europe's biggest interactive entertainment exhibition, ECTS, was held at London's Olympia stadium on the 5th, 6th and 7th. Everyone and anyone in the industry attends to keep up to date with the latest technology and happenings. I just went to play some free games!
August 21, 1999 - 10 Year School Reunion Chantry High School class of '89 in Ipswich, UK, held a 10 year reunion in the main hall of the school this evening.
Everyone remembered me. A group had even convinced themselves I would be a millionaire by now because I was the only computer wiz-kid at school. Unfortunately I had to disappoint them *grin*. I had trouble remembering most of the people there; even their names were unfamiliar. I'm very much looking foward to the next one which will be in just 5 years time.
June 10, 1999 - TV Interview Documentarys on modern relationships and the Internet seem to be growing in popularity. A Portuguese friend of mine living in the UK who works as a researcher for a documentary team recently wrote a proposal for such a documentary. I was invited up to Salford to be interviewed in front of a blue screen and talk about the technology of IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and both the finer and not so finer points of relationships over such a medium of communication. If all goes well we can expect to see the end product on TV later on this year.
May 27, 1999 - First Tooth Filling Oh joy, I had my first ever filling today. Now I can understand all the stigma about dentist drills. Having another one done next week; I can hardly contain my excitement. Personal note: Brush teeth more often.
May 1, 1999 - IRC #Beanbag Party - Nottingham, UK Yet another meeting of 'net-heads. This time it was in Nottingham and almost all the regulars of channel #Beanbag attended. Four people shared a birthday around this date (including me), so it was also a joint birthday celebration.
February 13, 1999 - Internet Party (Filmed for TV) The biggest ever Internet party and also the very first event of its type to be filmed for television on this day. St. Valentines Internet Party was held in London and organized by Club Internet. Film Crew, Zenith Productions who are responsible for Inspector Morse and Byker Grove among other television productions in the UK were also filming there for a documentary to be televised in June on Channel 5 as part of a series examining how people meet up in today's society. Now, who was the only fool who volunteered to be interviewed for the documentary? You guessed it - ME! The film crew arranged to meet me off the coach, interview me, and film me meeting my friend Hannah at an Internet café in London before the party. The last time I was this nervous was my first driving test (which I failed). Hannah and I were both filmed nervously talking over a rather hastily ordered cup of coffee and then filmed going on one of the computers. Yes, these very pages were filmed! *Wave* Hehe! If, perchance you came here by seeing my URL on the TV then "HI!!". It was then time to part with everyone and go off to meet another friend. We were filmed in a bar meeting for the first time and then left to make our own way to the party which was held in Evergreen Pub in Covent Garden. The party was great fun, shame the film crew didn't stay for the club we went to and then a meal in Chinatown in the early hours of the morning. All in all a very excellent experience. I can't wait to see myself on TV! |
