August 24, 2000 - New Look

Isn't it pretty? I've changed the whole look of my homepage by adding new buttons and titles as well as a few other cosmetic details.

August 12, 2000 - One Big Sunday

BBC Radio 1's Summer Roadshow Tour, One Big Sunday, was in Ipswich this Sunday. I almost didn't go because Kylie Minogue wasn't going to be there after I'd already read a news article saying she would. Oh! No, Ipswich wasn't good enough was it? So she went to next week's roadshow in Plymouth because they must have better, well, better plym's there or something! I guess 5ive and Baby Spice are more than compensation enough.

Matt, and myself went along with a massive 85,000 other people for this completely free live concert in the scorching sun. Even the free coke was free and it didn't even cost anything either; now that has to be good value for money!

The line-up included All Saints, 5ive, Emma Bunton, Texas, Muse, Mansun, Glamma Kid, Wookie, JJ72 and Planet Perfecto. Texas stayed on after Radio 1 went off air to do some songs for the people who brought sun block, which reminded me a little of Travis' impromptu live performance in Covent Gardens earlier this year. All in all a very entertaining day that was topped off with a nice barbecue with all my family at my brother's.

July 29, 2000 - Discworld Event 2000

If you don't already know who Terry Pratchett is then shame on you. His books are the most common to be stolen from libraries and he is quite proud of that fact. Author of the Discworld collection of books, he is adored by his fans for his creative and sometimes sarcastic wit.

Every year, Clarecraft organize a Discworld Event for fans to come along and pretend that they're a character from a Discworld book, or if they're a little more sane they go in shorts and a t-shirt and snigger at all the people pretending to be a character from a Discworld book, or all the people who look like Terry Pratchett, or even Terry Pratchett himself if you can tell the difference!

Of course, I went dressed as a character from a Discworld book. The theme was Lords and Ladies, so anyone who knows this book will know what I mean when I say that I went dressed as King Verence II. Well, for about 10 minutes at least, until I realized how hot it was wearing a two layer robe, not to mention how silly I felt being the only one there in a costume (no, let's definitely not mention that!).

Yup, good old Terry was there of course, mingling with all his look-a-likes, so it wasn't that easy to spot him. Carrying a handfull of books, we queued for an hour and a half as he signed and chatted to his followers. It was when it was my turn I relised I wasn't your hardcore Pratchett fan who stopped to have a 10 minute conversation about something that seemed quite interesting. No, I were there for about 30 seconds after skipping past the Cunning Articifer (who?), someone who looked like he was the illustrator simply because the things he was doodling on the table looked pretty cool, and some woman. I lamely dropped the fact that I share the same birthday as Terry and his "There's nothing to this Astrology lark then." retort went down with a few giggles from his colegues.

Spent the rest of the day sun bathing because it was so hot. Then had to leave as the fancy-dress event, called Maskerade, was starting - doh!

May 26, 2000 - Mini Travis Concert

Today started like any other day out in London, accept the weather was terrible. So I just picked Holborn underground station at random and went wandering. After a little while I could hear loud music in the distance which sounded like Travis, so I followed and stumbled upon a live impromptu performance by the scottish band Travis for Radio 1 at Covent Gardens! Jo Whiley was presenting the afternoon show in which Travis did their most popular hits, and even after it went off-air the band went on to do 7 songs just for the crowed of 1000 people who had gathered. One song included a cover of Brittany Spears! It was an amazing bit of chance that I happened to wander right into this un-planned miniature concert right in the middle of the streets of London.

March 15, 2000 - Owch!

My eyebrow bar fell out today - owch! It grew completly out.

March 3, 2000 - Fame again on Channel M

A new TV channel local to Manchester (UK) opened on the 14th of February and Salford University are responsible for a portion of the production for the channel. Since I have previously been involved with a documentary produced by students there I was invited to a debate show for the channel called Gloves Off. It will be aired on Channel M in 6 weeks time and I should have snap-shots from it on here soon.

January 22, 2000 - New Coat!

Find the coat of my dreams in Kensington Market, London. A nice full-length black leather coat. Yes I know it's made of cow, but the cow would be dead now anyway. At least it's usefull even after it's death.

I haven't found a pic of it that I like yet...
